House Painting Ideas
House painting ideas for when your ready to paint you home. There you are standing in your local hardware store staring at color samples when it hits you. Why go with the same old same old. Instead of that egg shell white you’ve used the last several times try something a little different.
Stars and stripes
The majority of people tend to go with flat, pastel colors when painting a house. This doesn’t mean you have to as well. Why not try a design or pattern instead of just a flat color. Polka dots may not be a good choice but why not try alternating colors that blend well like green and blue or maybe even a non-traditional color like dark purple with a red. For the more adventurous type maybe even try something a little more artistic. Like having a color gradient from top to bottom or a nice floral patter to brighten up your front yard. If more traditional is what you are looking for maybe just added a bit of color to the shutters and doors of the house instead. This will make your house stand out while remaining subtle. Also keep in mind that the color you choose can affect the mood of those around it. For example, red is often seen as a color of passion and anger. Painting your house red may make it stand out easy enough but might also have unwanted effects. Typically colors like blue, white, and such that have a more muted look tend to be calming colors. While the more vivacious colors tend to be more energetic. These are all things to keep in mind when deciding on a paint job.
If creativity is what you are after then you have lots of options for painting your house. As mentioned above you can have all kinds of designs to spruce up your house. Maybe a false design like a nice flower garden in a yard that makes gardening impossible. Maybe try a shade of paint that changes color in the sun. Blue by day, red by night wouldn’t directly stand out but make your home more interesting and fun.
It’s all the appearance
Whatever color or design you decide to paint your house it’s a reflection of you. So put down those bland, flavorless color samples and go with a spicy, unique color that sets you apart from everyone else. As an added bonus it will be a lot easier for your friends and family to find your house the next time they visit leaving you all more time to have fun instead of spending an hour on the phone explaining to someone to take the second left after the burger king not the first right after the McDonald.
